Indonesian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Records Highest Single-Day Visitor Number

Osaka, Kansai, Japan, 14 August 2025 – The Indonesian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka recorded 30,580 visitors on 13 August 2025, making it the largest single-day visitor number it has recorded since its opening on April 2025.

This figure brought the total number of visitors to the Pavilion to 1,906,296, representing 68% of the target of 2.8 million visitors. The total number of visitors during Expo 2025 Osaka is targeted to reach 28 million. With this achievement, the Indonesia Pavilion is hoping to welcome its 2 millionth visitor in the near future.

“This remarkable enthusiasm proves that the world wishes to get to know Indonesia more closely, to learn about its culture, and to explore potential cooperation opportunities for the future,” said Rahmat Mulianda, Director of the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.

The Indonesia Pavilion carries the theme “Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future,” inspired by Tri Hita Karana, a noble value emphasising harmony between humans, nature, and the Creator. As the responsible authority, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas ensures that the pavilion serves as a showcase for Indonesia’s tourism, trade, and investment potential. In addition to taking visitors through its three main zones (Nature, Culture, and Future) the Indonesia Pavilion also hosts numerous business forums, business matching sessions, and showcases a variety of crafts, fashion products, and daily performances of music and dance.

From April to August, the Indonesia Pavilion has served as a strategic stage for economic and investment diplomacy. By mid-August, it had hosted 51 business forums and one-on-one meetings involving investors, industry players, and government representatives from various countries, resulting in 9 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), 9 Letters of Intent (LoIs), 1 Joint Venture Agreement, and 1 Joint Statement, with total investment commitments worth USD 23.5 billion in the sustainable sector, green industry, creative economy, trade, waste management, and tourism.

These achievements are the result of collaboration among all parties. Several strategic partners who have provided support include, among others, Astra, Artha Graha Peduli, KAPPI, Pertamina, Barito Pacific Group, Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), Indofood, Japfa, BPDP, Garuda Indonesia, as well as ministries, institutions, and regional governments. Working with these parties, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas remains committed to delivering excellence and creating greater impact up until the closing of Expo 2025 Osaka on 13 October 2025.

“We are optimistic that we can exceed the set visitor and investment targets. The Indonesia Pavilion will continue to provide memorable experiences and a positive image of Indonesia in the eyes of the world,” concluded Director Rahmat Mulianda.
