BPK RI Submits Audit Report to Bappenas, Strengthening Food Security Strategy

Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy received Member II of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI) Daniel Lumban Tobing for the submission of the Audit Report on Food Security Performance and the Monitoring Report on Follow-up Actions to BPK RI Audit Findings at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

Minister Rachmat expressed appreciation to BPK RI for its active role in encouraging improvements to development planning governance, particularly through performance audits that generate concrete inputs and recommendations for refining business processes in national development planning and control.

The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas has followed up on several recommendations outlined in the 2025 Food Security Programme Performance Audit document, including through the formulation of the 2025–2029 National Food and Nutrition Action Plan (RAN-PG). In addition, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas has also been recommended to immediately follow up on coordination with the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs and the National Food Agency regarding the proposed revision of the Presidential Regulation on Strategic Food and Nutrition Policy.

“With regard to food, there are currently ongoing changes in policy strategy, including in relation to institutional arrangements. From the perspective of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, within the macro-planning context related to food security, we will review these recommendations further to ensure that their implementation can be synchronised with other institutions,” Minister Rachmat stated.

Minister Rachmat added that the primary objective of the entire process is to ensure that planning is not only well formulated, but also effectively implemented and able to deliver tangible benefits to the public. This requires stronger integration and synchronisation between planning and development implementation.

“That is the challenge we must address. The various recommendations delivered by BPK are the result of in-depth analysis. We will follow up on all recommendations that have been submitted, as this also forms part of our efforts to strengthen our food security strategy to become more sustainable,” the Minister concluded
