JAKARTA – The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, through the National Secretariat of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), once again held the Indonesia’s SDGs Action Awards (SAA) 2025, now in its fourth edition, to recognize various best practices and positive actions contributing to the achievement of SDGs targets.
“We are now in the Decade of Action for the implementation of the SDGs. Specifically, we have only five years left to achieve the sustainable development goals by 2030. Indonesia’s SDGs Action Awards (SAA) 2025 is an important instrument to give recognition to stakeholders who have demonstrated strong commitment and best practices in supporting the achievement of the SDGs,” said the Deputy for Food, Natural Resources, and Environment of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Leonardo A.A. Teguh Sambodo, during the kick-off of Indonesia’s SDGs Action Awards (SAA) 2025, held virtually on Tuesday (9/30).
The SAA 2025, carrying the theme “Food and Nutrition Innovation: Improving Human Capital Quality, Accelerating Sustainable Economic Growth, and Reducing Poverty,” is expected to encourage participation from various stakeholders showcasing best practices with wide-reaching impacts for beneficiaries. It also aims to motivate and inspire government and non-government actors to continue implementing programs and activities that deliver tangible results toward achieving SDGs targets in Indonesia.
Indonesia’s 2025 SAA will grant awards across six participant categories, including provincial governments, universities, large enterprises, micro, small, and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs)/cooperatives/village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), philanthropic organizations, and civil society organizations. These categories are managed independently by Bappenas. Additionally, there are special categories: District/City Governments, organized in collaboration with PT Surveyor Indonesia, and the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) category, organized by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas hopes that the SDGs targets by 2030 will serve as a driving force for a better Indonesia and invites all stakeholders to participate in SAA 2025, with registration open from 1-17 October 2025, via sdgs-awards.bappenas.go.id.
“We encourage all stakeholders to register and share their best practices to contribute to achieving the SDGs targets as part of the 2030 Agenda,” concluded Teguh.
