Bappenas Holds Appointment Ceremony for 2025 Air Force Reserve Component Participants

Minister for National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy attended the appointment ceremony for the 2025 Air Force Reserve Component (Komcad) participants, held at Lapangan Upakarti, Soreang, Bandung Regency, on Thursday, 20 November. The event marked the conclusion of the Military Basic Training (Latsarmil), which had taken place from 22 September to 20 November at Wingdik 800/Pasgat, Sulaiman Air Base, and was organised entirely by the Air Force Branch of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI AU).

Through this intensive training, the participants were prepared to become Air Force Reserve Component personnel, ready to support national defence efforts when needed.

“Following the Komcad curriculum teaches many strategies for how we can endure the struggles of this era, of which forms of warfare are not always physical. By joining the Komcad program, we become mentally and ideologically prepared, with a deepened sense of patriotism,” said Bappenas’ Head of Human Resources, Ellis Indrawati.

A total of 500 participants took part in this year’s Latsarmil, representing various institutions such as the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, the Quarantine Agency, as well as members of the general public. Of this number, 23 participants were representatives from Bappenas. Prior to the selection process, the initial number of Bappenas applicants was around 60 people.

Minister Rachmat Pambudy expressed his appreciation to all Komcad participants from Bappenas, describing them as pioneering Bappenas civil servants who took on the challenge of military training to grow both personally and professionally, while also gaining a deeper understanding of military values.

Deputy for Community Empowerment, Population, and Labour Affairs, Maliki, emphasised that the Komcad experience provides an essential foundation for enhancing participants’ capacities.

“Komcad will offer a significant and valuable provision for participants. We hope it will develop leadership, tactical thinking, innovation, and resilience with the ability to withstand stress, pressure, and various conditions that should not weaken us, but instead enable us to perform optimally,” he said.

Deputy Maliki also conveyed his appreciation to the participants, including Bappenas staff who successfully completed the training, with some even demonstrating outstanding achievements. One Bappenas participant, Iis Rodiah of the Directorate of Social and Economic Empowerment, graduated from Komcad with the award for Best Participant. Deputy Maliki highlighted Iis as a positive example for human resource development and for strengthening the role of women in both the workplace and the defence sector. “My hope is that with this achievement and the experience gained in Komcad, she will have a strong foundation going forward. Experiences like these can accelerate the development of human capital, including in leading and carrying out work more systematically, innovatively, and creatively,” he concluded.

Minister Rachmat Pambudy encouraged the graduates to take up their roles as true agents of change and development, urging them to encourage more of their colleagues to participate in Komcad as part of their service to the nation. “The military teaches us many things: discipline, punctuality, orderliness. And if we want to progress, we need to be disciplined, orderly, and meticulous. One of the core military values is to embody these traits. A real soldier must be a leader and a figure, and you are here as the best of the best,” concluded Minister Rachmat.
