Bappenas, TVRI, and RRI Collaborate to Optimize Dissemination of Development Plans to the Public

JAKARTA – The Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), together with public broadcaster TVRI and the Republic of Indonesia Radio (RRI), officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the "Collaboration in the Dissemination of National Development Planning through Broadcasting Programs" on Monday (20/11).

The signing of this collaboration is aimed at enhancing public participation in national development planning. "The dissemination of development issues needs to be spread to the public effectively. TVRI and RRI are at the forefront of disseminating public information. With effective dissemination, it will improve the quality of the community's knowledge systems because development issues and policies do not belong to the government alone, but to everyone," explained the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa in his address.

This collaboration covers various aspects, including education, campaigns, and invitations to participate in the national development planning agenda, with a primary focus on the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), Government Working Plan (RKP), revision of the New Capital City Law, and other strategic issues. The effective distribution of information about these agendas are crucial in ensuring active public participation.

In line with Minister Suharso's statement, RRI President Director Ignatius Hendrasmo and TVRI President Director Iman Brotoseno, who were present at the MoU signing, emphasized the importance of expanding the dissemination of development information as key to encouraging public participation in the development agenda. For this purpose, LPP TVRI and LPP RRI will develop various effective and efficient dissemination strategies through on-air and off-air broadcasting programs.

The role of LPP TVRI and LPP RRI in this collaboration is crucial as they can reach the public widely, including in remote, outermost, and frontier (3T) areas in Indonesia. LPP TVRI and LPP RRI are the only national broadcasting media with the widest coverage range in Indonesia, with the most regional stations and branches. Through the signing of this memorandum of understanding, it is hoped that the collaboration between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, LPP TVRI, and LPP RRI can serve as a concrete step towards improving the public's understanding of national development planning and encouraging active participation in achieving the target of becoming a "Sovereign, Advanced, and Sustainable Archipelagic State” under Indonesia's Golden 2045 Vision.
