More than 2,000 central and regional government representatives attended the National Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbangnas) on the 2024 Government Working Plan (RKP) and the 2020-2050 Population Projection launch at the Jakarta Convention Center, Tuesday (16/5).
The event was held by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and was held both online and offline, inviting representatives of various ministries/agencies, heads of planning bureaus, regents, mayors, heads of regional development planning agencies, public workers (ASN), and communities, especially those of younger generations.
“As an elaboration of the final year of the 2020-2024 RPJMN, the 2024 RKP is focused on achieving the development targets in the 2020-2024 RPJMN and laying a solid foundation towards achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision. The theme of the 2024 RKP is ‘Accelerating Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Transformation’,” said the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa.
The 2024 RKP is outlined through 7 national priorities, namely Strengthening Economic Resilience for Quality and Equitable Growth, Developing Regions to Reduce Inequalities and Ensure Equity, Increasing Qualified and Competitive Human Resources, Mental Revolution and Cultural Development, Strengthening Infrastructure to Support Economic Development and Basic Services, Building the Environment, Increasing Disaster Resilience and Climate Change, and Strengthening Political, Legal, Economic, and Social Stability through Transforming Public Services.
In its implementation, the 2024 RKP has guidelines for 8 policy directions, namely 1) Poverty Reduction and Elimination of Extreme Poverty, 2) Improving the Quality of Education and Health Services, 3) Strengthening Business Competitiveness, 4) Strengthening Industrial Revitalization and Applied Research, 5) Low Carbon Development and Energy Transition, 6) Acceleration of Basic Infrastructure Development and Connectivity, 7) Accelerating the Development of the Nusantara Capital City, and 8) the smooth implementation of the 2024 Elections.
As part of the 2024 RKP Musrenbangnas, the 2020-2050 Population Projection Launch was also carried out, which prepares the Indonesian population in 2045 through five strategies. These include 1) Realizing a Balanced Growing Population and Developing a New Era of Family Planning Policy, 2) Encouraging Equitable Migration of Populations (transmigration), 3) Supporting Population Aging and Preparing the Elderly to be Independent, 4) Closing the Human Resources Gap Through Early and Affirmative Preparation, and 5) Balanced Regional Development Between the Rural and Urban.
“The 2020-2050 Population Projection Document, which was launched today should be a reference for ministries and institutions as well as local governments to develop programs that can optimize the potential for this demographic bonus,” Indonesian Vice-President Ma’ruf Amin said.
