Gender is one of the most debating issues in the world. When people talked about gender, it is automatically linked us with sex, the biological differences. Unfortunately, it is wrong point of view. Even though gender could have a link with sex, but gender is not something related to biological differences. Gender is more related to social relationship among women and men such as subordination of women and the division of labour (West & Zimmerman 1987, p. 126). Generally, most people think gender has a close connection only with women, but recently the new paradigm of gender is try to deliver equality between men and women. However, this paper still wants to focus on the gender and development for women since there are so many debates related to the women’s development.
